You’ll find Lane harvesting, packaging, and delivering mushrooms all over town. You’ll also find her doing all kinds of lab work - actually, don’t look for her there, because the lab is sterile and you can’t come in!
Lane is a native Fredericktonian (her family has been here for 200 years), but she’s an avid traveler and has visited and lived in a variety of places with her family. Lane’s professional background includes yoga teaching, ESL teaching, health magazine writing, systems change management, and funeral directing.
Lane is a devoted mom of three, yet she also loves quiet. Among her favorite things are coffee, crossword puzzles, and painting.

Ben came up with the idea of Inspiration Acres during a run in Santa Fe, NM. So, Ben and Lane set off to renovate their Santa Fe house, sell it, move into apartments, build a house in Middletown from across the country, move there, and start a business! But only during the pandemic with two full-time jobs, three children and two cats. They are tired.
But now they now raise their children among chickens, vegetables, clean air, friendly folks, and good public schools. Ben also works as a nuclear engineer down the road, and he offers Inspiration Acres the technical and scientific skills to engineer the $#*% out of our mushroom equipment.
Ben likes biking, running, gardening, learning about things, spending time with family and friends, and speaking French to any French person he stumbles across.
Our Farm
Nestled in the heart of Middletown Valley, less than a mile from town square, Inspiration Acres is a 26-acre corn, hay, and wheat farm and the beautiful backdrop to our gourmet mushroom microfarm.
